Pharmacy Technician
This state-approved Pharmacy Technician Training course provides classroom instruction and hand-on experience in the classroom/lab and clinical facility in the pharmacy technician skills required to work in a variety of health care settings. The skills you will develop include XL required skills in addition to all elements of verifying prescription information, retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, measuring and mixing medications, selecting containers and prepare labels, preparing insurance claim forms and establishing and maintain patient records.

Requirements
To be admitted to XL Career School’s pharmacy technician program, prospective students must provide evidence that they meet the following entrance requirements before the start of training:
- At least 18 years old by the program’s end as documented by a driver’s license, birth certificate or social security card
- High school graduation as documented by a diploma or certified transcript OR
- Eligibility to receive a high school diploma during the year enrolled in the program as documented by a certified transcript and letter from the school’s guidance counselor indicating that the student is eligible for graduation at the end of the present school year.
- Complete the application
- Complete the XLCS Self-efficacy Scale and Background and Demographic Survey before admission.
National Exam
Students who desire of taking the national certification examination at the end of the training program must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma.

Students are expected to conduct themselves professionally, communicate effectively, and acquire skills necessary for a Pharmacy Technician to provide holistic care and be a qualified member of the healthcare team. Students are provided this learning experience as a step toward continual growth and development of the total person, and to stimulate a desire and need to become lifelong learners. Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy
Occupational/Physical Therapy Aide Training course provides classroom instruction and hands-on experience in the classroom/lab (minimum of 60 hours of classroom/lab instruction) and clinical facility (minimum of 35 hours of experience) in the occupational/physical therapy aide skills required to work in a variety of health care settings. The skills you will develop include XL required skills in addition to understanding the profession of occupational/physical therapy, the role of the occupational/physical therapy aide, the rehabilitation team, medical terminology used in occupational/physical therapy, body systems and terminology relevant to therapy, common medical disorders in occupational/physical therapy, safety and patient care, positioning and transfer procedures, therapeutic exercise and physical modalities agents, and activities of daily living and ambulation, and wheelchair and adaptive equipment used in therapy.

Our students will help to maintain and improve, whenever possible, the comfort level and abilities of the healthcare clients to preserve their highest quality of life. Also, students who complete the course and graduate will have the opportunity to sit for the Rehabilitation Technician Certification Exam (RTC).
Characteristics of a Good Aide
- Occupational/Physical therapy aides should be compassionate and have a desire to help people.
- They need patience and good interpersonal skills. They also need to be able to lift patients.
- Work schedules vary by facility and whether they're full-time or part-time employees.
- Many outpatient therapy clinics and offices provide therapy during the evenings and weekends to accommodate their clients' schedules.
